what the heck is "truly latin"?! the romans mixed with all sorts of other peoples, such as Etruscan and other Italic peoples, and don't even exist as a people anymore because they were absorbed by all the "conquered" peoples. Even Italy remains divided between the northern Germanic Longobards (to be simplistic) and the southern ancient Greek population. No one is "pure" anything, except themselves.
