Also, you have to remember that the Ancient Romans wore those wigs not just out of admiration, but also out of mockery. They wore those wigs to remind their Northern European slaves that they conquered them, enslaved them, and ruled over them. Wearing a wig from a fallen, enslaved, captured Northerner was the ultimate insult to their captured "barbaros". The wigs reminded the enslaved Northern blond haired blue eyed tribes that they were nothing but slave product.
